McDowell Mountain Cup series

The McDowell Mountain Cup series was created in 2017 to provide a challenging but attainable 3-race winter series in the warm Sonoran desert. The series takes place in January and February with events occurring two weeks apart. These low-key and affordable events are open to runners of all experience levels! Past Results

2025 Results: Nine runners earned a Cup (no photo). See results on Snakebite event page for info!

2024 Results:  Ten runners earned a Cup.

2023 Results:  Eleven runners earned a Cup. 

2022 Results:  Six runners earned a Cup.

2021 Results:  Eleven runners earned a Cup.

2020 Results:  Eleven runners earned a Cup.

2019 Results:  Seven runners completed both a Pemberton Trail race in February and a Snakebite race in March.  (The Stoneman Trail 14k, usually the 2nd of the 3-race series, was canceled by park management due to wet weather and poor trail conditions.)  Winners took home a tomato plant and an engraved coffee mug like the one shown below.


2018 Results: Only one runner, Timothy Lubbers, fit all three races into his schedule. He won the engraved Cup and a tomato plant!
